The Death of the Monolithic GPU Node: Why Prefill-Decode Disaggregation Is Rewriting Datacenter Economics
A first-principles systems breakdown of Prefill-Decode (PD) Disaggregation: how decoupling compute-bound prompt processing from memory-bandwidth-bound autoregression eliminates head-of-line blocking, unlocks distributed KV fabrics, and slashes inference TCO.
